Hi there Blog Fans! Long time, no blog...Yikes! Sorry about the lapse...but the out of town trips took a toll on my blogging. Not to mention my card making.I hope you enjoy the 2 cards in today''s post...One is a Halloween card...something I've been playing with. The "cracked glass" technique. I learned a lesson on this one...DO NOT emboss the image with black embossing powder if you plan to use Ultra Thick Embossing Powder to make the crackle. Why? you ask...well...the black embossing starts to filter out into the clear stuff and looks  blurry. I left it alone on this card 'cuz to me it gives it an eerie look. But what can I say...I like eerie! The sweet little baby girl card is a really sweet (did I mention that already?) Whipper Snapper design. I made this for a friend who just had another sweet little baby girl. No special techniques...just added some sparkle with some glitter glue. But the image is one of my all time faves. Hope they like it!So I hope all of you are having a nice weekend...this being one of the last "summer"party times. As for me...I plan to keep up with the blog...no more out of town trips for a while (I HOPE!) So get out there and enjoy this beeutiful weather...till next blog....TTFN,

I'm Baaaack!!!!

Hi there blog fans! I have been very M.I.A.and I DO apologize!Unfortunately I had to go back up to the land of OH for a funeral for my Aunt. And although this was a very sad gathering of family and friends, it did give me the opportunity to see some folks I haven't seen in quite a while. But the long car trips are starting to wear me down.(Not to mention the DH, who drove the entire way!!) We have another one this weekend to New Jersey. A dear friend's son is tying the knot and we are heading up for some power celebrating! Which brings me to today's card..it is a recessed frame card and my absolute first try at this technique, so it could probably be tweaked and tugged into better shape, but all in all not a bad first try (my opinion only, of course!) I hope you like! And so anyways...a funny thing happened yesterday at my friend Monica's. I was going on and on about my recent road trip and petting her sweet Sadee( Monica's BEEutiful Boxer) when she asked Sadee to stop pestering me (she wasn''t...I love dogs...and Monica was just being polite!). I told her that it was okay since Sadee and I were having a little tete-a-tete. Just as I said that, we both heard an all too familiar noise letting us know that Miss Sadee was passing wind! With that, Monica informs me that it was not a tete-a-tete, but rather a toot-a-toot! What can I say...I bring out the best in people and the wind out in dogs!!! Yikes! Have a great Tuesday.....TTFN, Edee

Hi there Blog fans! I know! I've been gone for like a week!!! I know! No Excuses! Things have been really busy here AND I am STILL trying to figure out my camera and all it's little idiosyncrises (sp?) Without the instruction book...it's like flying blind! And I am a white knuckle-flier, for sure! But the good news is that I am learning and I am getting some photos together here soon! Lots of things have been transpiring since, last we blabbed (well me anyway). My friends, Charles and Linda celebrated their 40th anniversary and a mutual Birthday!!CONGRATS! you two! My nephew in Ohio is celebrating his high school graduation (Go RY!) and I have been asked to make a flip-flop cake for a bridal shower next week. DEFINITELY posting pictures! I am hoping that my friend Monica will collaborate on the cake with me. She has the coolest ideas and great creative vision! Thanks Monica! My brother has invited us to stay with him this weekend when we go up to my nephew's party. I can't wait to spend some time with him and the family, and if there are any cool photos to share..you know I will! The one drwaback with traveling up to the land of OH, is that it is an 8 hour car ride (in good traffic). So...patience being a virtue...I will try to be virtuous! And I hope my DH doesn't have any probs with the bluetooth in the car (who's idea was it it call it that, anyway?). Last time he tried to call our son from the car's tooth, it misunderstood him and started speaking French, to which my DH responded with some blue language (touche! Mazda). He had me laughing to the point of tears...which rubbed off on him and made it harder for him to stay on the road! Yikes! So Blog fans...Beware the Blue Tooth! TTFN!

Hello out there, blog fans! I thought I would share with you a card that I made for my nephew's Birthday. He is a really fun(ny) guy and is turning 15 this Wednesday. The image is from an image swap we did among our craft/coffee clatch group of terrific ladies. This is from Hambo and it comes with 2 sentiments...To a real fungi, and To a real fun-gal. I popped up the little mushroom and the bee. They were colored with colored pencils and OMS.Then layered with CS and placed over some Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip ribbon. I added some brads and some Crystal Effects (and just a little bit of stickles on the bee's wings.)The BG paper is Basic Grey. And the inside sentiment simply says...Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy! So, okay.... I have a question to ponder for anyone who has encountered this: Why is it that when you are at the Gym and are clearly exercising hard, breathing hard, sweating and are unable to speak, that someone comes along and strikes up a converstion when you cannot comfortably answer them? Do they really not notice that this is a bad time for idle chit-chat?Or is it that they are done trying to work off that bowl of Chubby Hubby ice cream and are now just dying to torture someone who is working off everything they have eaten for the last 5 years?! If anyone out there has encountered this strange phenomenon...please let me know your thoughts on this. Otherwise, I'm chalking it up to me being a torture magnet.Have a good one! I have to run and eat a healthy lunch now! (*#%%!)
Toodles,
Edee :)

Hello bloggers! It's the weekend and here we go again with the weather!!Is it going to be partly sunny or partly cloudy today? What does that really mean? I think it means that the meteorologists can say pretty much anything weather-wise and not be wrong! But since the weather isn't the bestest, I thought it would be a good time to get over here and tell you about the pic for today. I am very lucky in that I have some really awesome friends. And these really awesome friends are always doing awesomely nice things, For instance...inviting me and the DH for dinner(which was mucho yummy BTW!).Anywho...so I needed a nice little somethin', somethin' and thought, HMMM, what about some pretty posies? So...out to the store I go, finding some really pretty posies and I get them nestled in their new home...but they needed a little jazzing up. HMM...what to do,what to do...that's when I remembered the hostess set from Stampin up: Best Yet. I used some nestabilities(Labels One) some Sam's Club CS, some ribbon, some gem stones and some die cut flowers (sissix) some dimensionals, a little black stazon and Bang! There it is! I think it works...whattaya think? But the Best thing Yet is that my friends really enjoyed them and that makes me Happy! So....Happy weekend to all and to all a Good Saturday! Cheers!

Happy Monday!

Hi there Blog Fans! Well...it's Monday and as most Mondays can be rough, this one is proving to be a challenge! I wanted to take a picture of today's litle card and the camera said "NO". Probably because the memory is full! (Most of them are NOT my photos) by the way. So....here we go...now I have to clear out the memory and square that away before snapping any photos. Geez Whiz! While that is underway, let me tell you about Friday (felt like Monday!) last week...My friend Monica and I went to get pedicures and lunch. Fun, right? But my DH also asked if I could run 2 errands for him as well. Bank and Post Office. Pretty simple (most of the time) unfortunately, two blondes were handling this task. So Monica asks, "where is the bank you need to go to?" I say blah di blah nearby, but it's out of our way, so I said "no worries, there's a branch down from where we'll be" Well alrighty then, so off we go.Probelm arises when we pull up to the drive-thru teller who then asks,"don't you want to deposit this at such and such bank?" OOPS! This is the wrong bank! So where in the world is my bank?! As it turned out the next closest branch was not that close. We drove to the other side of town and Voila! there is the bank! And a nice restaurant for lunch AND a nice new post office! Moral of the story is : Always check to make sure someone hasn't moved your bank BEFORE you try to go there! I think I'm switching to a new bank with a branch on every street corner! Monica and I still had a great day together...but who knows what we'll get into next! Have a great Monday or Friday or whatever! TTFN!

Happy Weekend! Well....I think the reverse psychology may have worked! It's hot AND sunny today...so out to the pool we go! But before we do, here is a fun card featuring some VERY colorful and fun birds. I loved this paper (purchased at A.C. Moore's) it is Basic Grey, Lime Rickey/howdy doody. The bird is a clear stamp ( Michael's) for $1.00. I used my spellbinders, Labels One, for the orange and white backgrounds for the bird and paper pieced him with a scrap of some lime green check (absolutely no idea where from!) and the orange paper for the beak. Added some glitter and some colorfull ribbon and BOOM! there it is! Oh yeah...I popped up the wing with a micro-mini pop dot. And the lime green strip underneath it all is embossed with the large polka dot embossing plate (sissix) from stampin up. I hope you like it...it was lots of fun to make. These colors make me think of cool tropical drinks being sipped poolside. HMMM...sounds like a great idea! Have a good one...

Hi stampers, card makers, paper enthusiasts, and correspondence junkies! I hope you are all doing well....only 2 more days until the weekend...Yeehaa! And I hope the weather cooperates! My friend, Monica and I have been wanting to get out by the pool for about a week and a half, and every time we mention doing so, the weather turns ugly and stormy. But yet it is still HOT! So....we decided to ask for horrible weather in the hopes it will be sunny and blue skies. Does reverse psychology work with the cosmos? We'll find out this weekend (and you know I'll keep you posted!). So, anywho....my nephew graduated from high school and is having a party next month which we will be driving up to Ohio for. This is the card I made for him. The front has Snoopy flying a bi-plane and the sentiment: Follow Your Dreams. It has Congratulations on the inside. It was super fun to make and I really enjoyed doing the cloud effect and the vintage aging.I hope he likes it as much as I do! I know he he is "Peanuts" fan from way back. My dear friend and co-conspirator in our card /coffee clatch, Linda, loaned me this stamp. Thank You Linda! (huggies :)) So fellow stampers...let it rain (NOT!!!) this weekend! TTFN,
Edee

"Surprise!"

Hi there ! Today's post is a quickie since I am messing around trying to find some of my photos. I think this computer of mine may have eaten them! I know I had them a minute ago...but this machine is mocking me like the evil thing that it is! As you may have noticed, I have a love/hate relationship with this thing. (Sometimes just hate!). SOOO anyway, the card I have posted today is a fun BD card. My dear friend Monica gave me this fabulous paper and I had a set of inkadinkado stamps just waiting to be inked up! I added some stickles, popped up the image and embossed the word, "surprise" and there it is! The inside reads: "It's a Freakin' Party!"I think the colors are great and just scream "BIRTHDAY!" what do 'ya think? Meanwhile, I sit here hoping for some nice weather to show up...but I doubt that it will. So it looks like maybe I'll travel back up to my craft space and work on something else. I'll keep you posted (HA HA HA!)

This is a pic of of my dear SIL's Birthday card. I was hoping for a post card look. I have to admit....the origami shirt was fun to create. And has given me the urge to find some hawaiian pattern paper( and also to travel to a nice tropical location! I think Tahiti is nice! )Anywho...I hope he likes it, and since he is Floridian....it should be a familiar scene that he would enjoy. So here are the deets: I used Bazzill CS to make this 6x6 little number. I stamped the cloud background onto a piece of Gina K. 80# luxury paper that was cut out with the square nestabilities. The technique for creating the clouds is to use a scalloped piece of paper as a "mask" and altering the position over the white paper (with the scallop as a mask) sponge daub with bashful blue ink (stampin up). I stamped a hampton arts stamp of the island and palm trees onto the this and watercolored in the image. I used a piece of kraft paper and ran it through a paper corrugator for the band behind the artwork. I also added a small piece of kraft that was punched with the spiral notebook punch from EK Success. The sentment was stamped with a My Sentiments Exactly vacation set stamp ( I think anyways). And the ink used was Stazon Timber Brown. The string was just a piece of jute thread and then I glittered here and there with some stickles. Hope you like!! TTFN!

Here is the pic...oops, sorry!

Yippee!!!! My sweet Lindsay, helped me get this here! I need a few more techy lessons. Geez Louise!!!! Anyway....yippee! It's done...Enjoy!

Yippee!!!

Yippee!!! It's Friday!!! Although the inside of this card reads,"It's happy hour somewhere". Kinda goes together with Friday, don't ya think? ANYWAY, this fun little number is a stamp from Art Impressions. I just paper pieced her dress, colored her with water color and highlighted here and there with Copics (I only have 2 colors, maybe I can ask Santa for some more) and glittered her hair with stickles. So there ya have it. BTW, I neglected to give you the deets on yesterday's card. So,okay...also an Art Impressions image, stamped on watercolor paper, colored with water colors and oulined again with (you guessed it!) one of the 2 Copics I own at his present time. Her hair is also enhanced with stickles and I added the flower cutouts which are up on dimensionals.Stuck on some rhinestone brads, and Voila! there she is.So, whether you are happy that it's Friday, or that it's happy hour(which can be every hour...'cuz let's face it, why limit happy to an hour?) I hope you have a great one. Enjoy, Edee

Recently, I visited a new dentist (I do like this one, by the way). ANYWAY, I digress. As part of the usual indoctrination of new patients, I had been given a plethora of forms and questionnaires to fill out (i.e., name, age, first grade boyfriend's name -- you know, the usual). SO OKAY, there was a spot to be filled for "what do you prefer to be called or known as?". My inclination was to put down the truth, so of course I thought "her highness, the queen" or "your majesty." Unfortunately, people refused to call me by these names -- how RUDE! So, I acquiesced to being called by my given name. SO, this is where the idea for this card came from.

The front of the card says "So Okay...", and the inside reads "If I'm not the Queen, why does my pantyhose say I am?". Fun story, huh? And true! So, enjoy stampers.
