Hi there Blog Fans! Well...it's Monday and as most Mondays can be rough, this one is proving to be a challenge! I wanted to take a picture of today's litle card and the camera said "NO". Probably because the memory is full! (Most of them are NOT my photos) by the way. So....here we go...now I have to clear out the memory and square that away before snapping any photos. Geez Whiz! While that is underway, let me tell you about Friday (felt like Monday!) last week...My friend Monica and I went to get pedicures and lunch. Fun, right? But my DH also asked if I could run 2 errands for him as well. Bank and Post Office. Pretty simple (most of the time) unfortunately, two blondes were handling this task. So Monica asks, "where is the bank you need to go to?" I say blah di blah nearby, but it's out of our way, so I said "no worries, there's a branch down from where we'll be" Well alrighty then, so off we go.Probelm arises when we pull up to the drive-thru teller who then asks,"don't you want to deposit this at such and such bank?" OOPS! This is the wrong bank! So where in the world is my bank?! As it turned out the next closest branch was not that close. We drove to the other side of town and Voila! there is the bank! And a nice restaurant for lunch AND a nice new post office! Moral of the story is : Always check to make sure someone hasn't moved your bank BEFORE you try to go there! I think I'm switching to a new bank with a branch on every street corner! Monica and I still had a great day together...but who knows what we'll get into next! Have a great Monday or Friday or whatever! TTFN!

Happy Weekend! Well....I think the reverse psychology may have worked! It's hot AND sunny today...so out to the pool we go! But before we do, here is a fun card featuring some VERY colorful and fun birds. I loved this paper (purchased at A.C. Moore's) it is Basic Grey, Lime Rickey/howdy doody. The bird is a clear stamp ( Michael's) for $1.00. I used my spellbinders, Labels One, for the orange and white backgrounds for the bird and paper pieced him with a scrap of some lime green check (absolutely no idea where from!) and the orange paper for the beak. Added some glitter and some colorfull ribbon and BOOM! there it is! Oh yeah...I popped up the wing with a micro-mini pop dot. And the lime green strip underneath it all is embossed with the large polka dot embossing plate (sissix) from stampin up. I hope you like it...it was lots of fun to make. These colors make me think of cool tropical drinks being sipped poolside. HMMM...sounds like a great idea! Have a good one...

Hi stampers, card makers, paper enthusiasts, and correspondence junkies! I hope you are all doing well....only 2 more days until the weekend...Yeehaa! And I hope the weather cooperates! My friend, Monica and I have been wanting to get out by the pool for about a week and a half, and every time we mention doing so, the weather turns ugly and stormy. But yet it is still HOT! So....we decided to ask for horrible weather in the hopes it will be sunny and blue skies. Does reverse psychology work with the cosmos? We'll find out this weekend (and you know I'll keep you posted!). So, anywho....my nephew graduated from high school and is having a party next month which we will be driving up to Ohio for. This is the card I made for him. The front has Snoopy flying a bi-plane and the sentiment: Follow Your Dreams. It has Congratulations on the inside. It was super fun to make and I really enjoyed doing the cloud effect and the vintage aging.I hope he likes it as much as I do! I know he he is "Peanuts" fan from way back. My dear friend and co-conspirator in our card /coffee clatch, Linda, loaned me this stamp. Thank You Linda! (huggies :)) So fellow stampers...let it rain (NOT!!!) this weekend! TTFN,

"Surprise!"
Hi there ! Today's post is a quickie since I am messing around trying to find some of my photos. I think this computer of mine may have eaten them! I know I had them a minute ago...but this machine is mocking me like the evil thing that it is! As you may have noticed, I have a love/hate relationship with this thing. (Sometimes just hate!). SOOO anyway, the card I have posted today is a fun BD card. My dear friend Monica gave me this fabulous paper and I had a set of inkadinkado stamps just waiting to be inked up! I added some stickles, popped up the image and embossed the word, "surprise" and there it is! The inside reads: "It's a Freakin' Party!"I think the colors are great and just scream "BIRTHDAY!" what do 'ya think? Meanwhile, I sit here hoping for some nice weather to show up...but I doubt that it will. So it looks like maybe I'll travel back up to my craft space and work on something else. I'll keep you posted (HA HA HA!)

This is a pic of of my dear SIL's Birthday card. I was hoping for a post card look. I have to admit....the origami shirt was fun to create. And has given me the urge to find some hawaiian pattern paper( and also to travel to a nice tropical location! I think Tahiti is nice! )Anywho...I hope he likes it, and since he is Floridian....it should be a familiar scene that he would enjoy. So here are the deets: I used Bazzill CS to make this 6x6 little number. I stamped the cloud background onto a piece of Gina K. 80# luxury paper that was cut out with the square nestabilities. The technique for creating the clouds is to use a scalloped piece of paper as a "mask" and altering the position over the white paper (with the scallop as a mask) sponge daub with bashful blue ink (stampin up). I stamped a hampton arts stamp of the island and palm trees onto the this and watercolored in the image. I used a piece of kraft paper and ran it through a paper corrugator for the band behind the artwork. I also added a small piece of kraft that was punched with the spiral notebook punch from EK Success. The sentment was stamped with a My Sentiments Exactly vacation set stamp ( I think anyways). And the ink used was Stazon Timber Brown. The string was just a piece of jute thread and then I glittered here and there with some stickles. Hope you like!! TTFN!

Here is the pic...oops, sorry!
Yippee!!!
Yippee!!! It's Friday!!! Although the inside of this card reads,"It's happy hour somewhere". Kinda goes together with Friday, don't ya think? ANYWAY, this fun little number is a stamp from Art Impressions. I just paper pieced her dress, colored her with water color and highlighted here and there with Copics (I only have 2 colors, maybe I can ask Santa for some more) and glittered her hair with stickles. So there ya have it. BTW, I neglected to give you the deets on yesterday's card. So,okay...also an Art Impressions image, stamped on watercolor paper, colored with water colors and oulined again with (you guessed it!) one of the 2 Copics I own at his present time. Her hair is also enhanced with stickles and I added the flower cutouts which are up on dimensionals.Stuck on some rhinestone brads, and Voila! there she is.So, whether you are happy that it's Friday, or that it's happy hour(which can be every hour...'cuz let's face it, why limit happy to an hour?) I hope you have a great one. Enjoy, Edee

Recently, I visited a new dentist (I do like this one, by the way). ANYWAY, I digress. As part of the usual indoctrination of new patients, I had been given a plethora of forms and questionnaires to fill out (i.e., name, age, first grade boyfriend's name -- you know, the usual). SO OKAY, there was a spot to be filled for "what do you prefer to be called or known as?". My inclination was to put down the truth, so of course I thought "her highness, the queen" or "your majesty." Unfortunately, people refused to call me by these names -- how RUDE! So, I acquiesced to being called by my given name. SO, this is where the idea for this card came from.
The front of the card says "So Okay...", and the inside reads "If I'm not the Queen, why does my pantyhose say I am?". Fun story, huh? And true! So, enjoy stampers.
